0:25 Today I want to help you make money. Have time freedom, having the ability to spend time with your family and take a vacation. You want to be in control of your calendar and do what you want to do. And you still want money coming in. You want financial freedom and not have to worry about it.
1:34 What does this online business thing mean to you? To work with who you want, when you want for how long you want. So what are you doing to go there?
1:44 You may have built a vision board and you know where you want to go. The roadmap you’re building right now is what’s going to get you there. You may here gurus promoting their next things. And your roadmap might be building a coarse for passive income, sales funnels, getting professional headshots done, and there are other things.
2:58 There are a million and one courses and books on this and they have their place. It all falls into the consumer awareness journey. And this is something I work with my girls on who are a part of the Profit Party Academy. This connection and it’s a five-step process. I talk with people all the time about them having their course and their funnel and a great optin, but they still aren’t selling anything.
4:53 It’s because we’re missing a key factor. It’s this online selling myth that says that if you build it, they will come. By doing all of those things, but in the wrong order, you’re missing the one thing that’s going to make you money. And that one thing mis the ing is connection. You’re missing out on reaching out and talking to people, asking them what they value, where they’re struggling and how you can help them. That’s the key to success in any business.
6:12 Instead of building it first and having the perfect look of a business, and but what I’m stressing to you is, wouldn’t it be nice if you could start generating money in your business so that instead of trying to bootstrap those things, all you have to do is outsource it to someone. Stop wasting precious money doing those things first, instead start doing these things first.
7:33 Start reaching out and building relationships. If you’re an introvert, don’t like talking to people, don’t want to go to networking events, then fine. Keep doing what you’re doing and see where that gets you in five years.
8:20 This is a tough love episode. If you’re hiding behind your business, start doing yourself a favor. Make it an intentional time to start talking to people. Ask people why they’re stuck, what would help them move forward to get where they’d like to be, what emotion they’re lacking in their life that they’d like to feel. Then shut up and listen to what they have to say.
9:42 Take that unknown out of the online relationship, and build the know, like and trust, and then offer them what they’re looking for. The key to making more time and more money is to help other people to develop it in their life.
10:23 If you think you know what everyone wants, that’s where people go wrong. People don’t get out there and ask what their ideal person is looking for. You’re not getting out and asking if they’d pay for a course, if people would like 3 or 6 months, if someone has worked with someone like you before and what their experience was. Ask questions and then listen to the response. Ask why five times and get real, real emotional, raw answers. It’s never enough time or enough money, it’s deeper than that. If you’re going to grow, you need to have more people pay you or less people pay you more money.
12:20 You may need to be open to the fact that you have to be open to starting back at ground zero. You might say, “I’ve already asked all these questions, built the course and I don’t want to go back and redo it.” If it’s not working, let’s fix it. If you do all this up front work first, you might have to redo something. If you ask the questions first, you create an offer, then you can start meeting their need. And their friends start paying you and then you have referral money coming in, you’re paying yourself and you’ve got money coming into your money funnel.
13:35 Now when you have money coming in, you can get help with building your business and growing in other ways that you can when you start meeting your goals.
14:04 I had a successful offline business and I grew it by connecting and building relationships then worrying about all the branding later. And then I started my online business and I did it all backward. I listened to everyone and felt like I needed to have all these 10 things done first before I started marketing myself and it was an epic mistake. If you’ve already started this, then maybe you should start talking to people. If you get energized and encouraged, do more of that. Even if that conversation is not resulting in money yet. I want you to set a number for yourself, a goal to talk to people in your specific market every single week. Find a number that feels comfortable then double it. Stop with the excuses, those are people who will thank you publically and talk to others about you. Those people you talk with are the best investment in your business.
17:23 You can build a connection by commenting on a post, but you’ll make a much deeper connection through the phone or video. I prefer video but if you don’t do video, make the phone call. The worst thing that could happen is that you make a friend if you’re not able to help that person. Make that a continuous goal each week. Your business, as a result will grow.
