IN THIS EPISODE

20 It is awesome to have you here today. Because you’re here and because I love you and because I want you to take care of yourself, we’re going to talk about self-service. How to nurture your tribe by taking care of yourself first.

46 Let me tell you what I mean – so often we are people pleasers. That’s our primary concern and we are empathetic. We can tell the emotions of other people and tend to pick those up. You might be on the phone with someone and they aren’t saying something, but you know something is wrong. You end up asking them what’s going on and then end up offering your gift of time or doing something outside of your zone of genius. You want to help them out so you end up working on something like tech. Samantha Johnston is the one you want to call, not me. But clients have asked me and I end up spending time working with them to help them out, and yes, I can do it, but it pulls us away from what we should have been working on. At the end of the day, while I’m reflecting on my day, I realize it was a disservice to them because I wasn’t able to serve myself because I could have helped them in my zone of genius.

39 It happens in our life. You have someone in your life who is an energy vampire, you know who it is, and you get off the phone with someone and you realize you missed out on time with your kids because you were trying to help someone. There are those people who will ask you to listen to the same story, they will continue to go through the same cycles and same patterns of negativity. Yes, should be a good friend, but those around you are affected by the decision you make in how you spend your time and giving away your energy.

26 If you listen to the last episode I did with Dana Malstaff of the Boss Mom Movement, she mentioned self-service a few times such as her love language, her need for affirmation and how she does things that bring her love. At her retreats, she has karaoke because she wants to be the voice of a Disney character. She also knows that people getting vulnerable together in this way it builds relationships. When you expose yourself, you look to those around you, it releases oxytocin and dopamine by looking for affirmation from those around you it builds community.

30 If you are putting yourself first, and I don’t mean in a selfish way, tuning into yourself and incorporating those things into your business and connecting with your tribe then it’s a good thing. When you feel good about your business, it helps you better help your tribe by feeling good, abundant and joyful in a good way, then you’ll attract more people. That’s the law of attraction. If you want people to love you for your happiness, you have to start with yourself. You have to discover what fills you up and do them. You have to declutter what it is that no longer serves you in your life. You might need to set new boundaries in your business, dropping something in your business that no longer serve you, creating a time limit on how much time you’re going to give the energy vampires in your life. It’s super important in every area of your life.

21 You know the old saying “if she ain’t happy, ain’t no one happy”, “happy wife, happy life” – if you aren’t happy then you can’t make those around you happy. If you want to change the world and the lives of those around you, you have to start with you. If you do them on the regular, do the things that you love to do at home and in your business. Find those who like doing what you don’t like doing and partner with them. If you’re still bootstrapping, maybe batch those things you don’t like, then you’re only crabby one day.

19 I’d love to know what ah hah’s you’ve had, come on over to the Profit Party Facebook group and talk about it. And if you want to get more of that, we’re doing so much mindset work in the Profit Party Academy so that we can declutter limiting beliefs and figure out what your clients want so you can feel good about what you’re charging in a price exchange. I coach live every week, and if you want to learn more about it, go to the website and you can schedule a 15-minute call with me to see if it’s the right fit for you.
