Hey! That’s MY idea!
I can’t tell you how many times I screamed that line in my head after finding out someone else- my competitor- stole one of my ideas (and then went on to make money off of it).
Competition is just the nature of business. Especially when you’re in a creative industry.
You think of something. It’s epic! It’s knocking the socks off of everyone. You present it to a client.
Before you can even celebrate your successful idea, someone else has already taken it, put their own spin on it, and is selling it as their own.
So… What do you do?
Do you get on every social media channel that exists and call them out?
Or… You can get over it and move on!
Easier said than done, right? Especially when it comes to your intellectual property.
You’ve put time and energy into your creations. This is your business; It’s your baby!
When someone steals them, you’re not crazy to feel upset.
But feeling emotional, jealous, angry and resentful is only going to hurt your business. In a big way.
I’ve been in your shoes. And at first thought, revenge sounded sweet and idealic. But, being the logical creature I am, I knew there had to be a better way.
In todays episode, I’m sharing with you my favorite ways of turning toxic feelings into fuel for creative greatness.
If you have a favorite habit to help you through these sticky situations, please share it below. I’d love to try it out!
